We are looking for a new receptionist

To start as soon as possible, the successful applicant will be responsible for:

Meeting and greeting guests, suppliers, and other visitors to the restaurant

Answering and forwarding phone calls

Answering and forwarding emails

Taking reservations using our online reservation system

Capturing supplier invoices

You will need great people skills, patience, be well organised, friendly and able to deal with sometimes difficult guests.

Chenin, Chenin, glorious Chenin

 

We love this varietal and there are always at least three on our various wine lists. There are also a bunch of visionary wine makers that are producing Chenin Blanc wines of remarkable quality. This is evident in the number of celebrations of this varietal we are seeing. The latest one was the Standard Bank Chenin Blanc Top Ten Challenge of 2014 recently held at the Delaire Graff Estate in Stellenbosch. Neil Pendock’s Top Ten Terroir Chenin Blancs held earlier this year looks at this wine from a unique angle; he announced a terroir driven Top 10.

We are going to celebrate this delicious wine varietal by showcasing some of the Chenin we have had on our various lists over the past while with one or two thrown in for good measure which we have never tasted before. In true Foodbarn style, there will be food paired with each wine; is there any other way to drink wine?

When: Wednesday 10th September from 6pm

Cost: R300 which includes all the wine and the food

We will taste wines from Adi Badenhorst (Secateurs), Raats, KWV, Beaumont, Neil Patterson and Remhoogte
